“Even when compared to a pot grown tree of the same age, the above ground RCB-Pro grown tree had the best root system by far.
We grow aspen trees, which have a very wide spreading root system. So we needed a way to contain the roots and still keep a healthy tree. After trying the in-ground Root Control Bags, we converted our whole field grown operation over to them. And then, High Caliper sent us samples of the Above Ground RCB-Pro.
We tested those out and were unexpectedly surprised to find the Pro produced a perfect ratio of trunk to branch caliper – putting us in that ideal growth zone.
I can understand why some people are uncertain of the bags, because it’s something different. But once they use them, they start liking them real fast.
Our production time has decreased by 33%, meaning we can sell our trees a full 2 years earlier. And with all the wind we have – and it’s a lot – our trees bagged above ground rarely blow over. That saves us a lot of time having to stand them up again.
But what makes High Caliper special is they’re all about relationships. They get to know who you are, and are not just about selling a bunch of product. I’d give you an example, but it’s pretty hard to pick just one when they all stand out.”
